Ever wonder what it would be like to turn off your social networks?

I’ve heard of people who have much more willpower than myself going off the grid and abandoning social media completely. It’s hard to imagine a world without social media, and for at least the sake of being a digital marketer, I hope that day never comes.

If the shoe fits, share it.

It’s no secret, brands are using multiple social media networks to market their products in different ways. Just last week I read an article on LinkedIn announcing that my favorite sporting goods store was now supporting a cause I’m also involved in.  I was in the market for a new pair of running shoes, so the next day I moseyed on over to their Facebook page to take a fun quiz and found the perfect pair based on my workout habits. Later I searched “running shoes” on Pinterest. I noticed that the same sporting goods store had some cool looking kicks, and with the link to their Google+ account, I was able to print out a coupon for 40% off. I was so happy after my experience that I tagged the sporting goods store in the photo I tweeted from my first run with my new pair of shoes.

Ok, that didn’t really happen. But the story elaborately describes the perfectly executed corporate social media campaign. A cunning digital marketer will uniquely tailor each piece of content to the specific network. It’s not enough to take the same post and share it on all the social networks, all at once and with the same message. You have to know what type of content your audience wants to engage with on each social network they are visiting.

Where’s Waldo? How to stand out of the crowd.

According to the 2015 US Media Consumption Report, Americans are expected to consume media for more than 1.7 trillion hours this year, or an average of 15.5 hours per person per day watching, listening or reading content. So how, as a marketer, do you break through the incredible amount of content clutter out there and influence your audience? It comes down to creating shareable content that appears in the right place, at the right time, and with the right message.

For this very reason we have created the Social Network Cheat Sheet for you!
